Ensuring that government fully funds the true cost of community services.
Families in Hawaii depend on a network of nonprofits to survive. Community-based nonprofit organizations create a safety net. But that safety net is fraying.

The Hawaiʻi True Cost Coalition is comprised of 70+ community-based nonprofit organizations who are working to ensure that government contracts cover the full costs of programs and services so that we can continue to serve struggling Hawaii families.

THE TRUE COST
Critical programs and services are in danger.
Government contract rates are set below the costs of providing the service, have not increased in the last decade, and fail to cover full program costs. Community-based nonprofit organizations have been able to fill the gap through their own fundraising efforts but are now at a critical tipping point.
96% are concerned that government contracts will not be sufficient to provide support for the increasing challenges faced by individuals, families and communities.
40% fear they may soon be forced to discontinue services.
THE IMPACT
Community-based organizations touch all of our lives.
Hawai’i nonprofits feed, heal, shelter, educate, inspire, enlighten, and nurture people of every age, gender, race, and socioeconomic status, from every corner of every island.
